8 Ways to Re-ignite Your Energy and Find Balance

Hey there, Stronger Fam!

Does life ever feel out of whack? Of course it does.

Every self-help guru throws out a new line (daily) in hopes to strangle you into what they consider a “balanced” life.

Who needs one more time management tool? No me.

Instead, take the truth serum. There are SO MANY damn areas of our life that need attention, or what Darren Hardy calls The Life Wheel.

So, what is it and how can we re-direct our turbulent flight away from Panicattackville to land on a beach in Cancun?

The Life Wheel includes eight areas of our life.

  1. Social – who we hang out with
  2. Physical – longevity meets vitality
  3. Mental – “happiness”
  4. Financial – current fiscal state with retirement
  5. Lifestyle – what we do for fun
  6. Spiritual – higher power connection to inner self
  7. Family – deepest relationships
  8. Professional – living out our full potential to contribute

Why Should You Care?

To heat up the sitch….imagine you have an 8-Burner stove top (see what I did there).

Certain areas of your life require a higher heat setting, while others…simmer on low until they can’t.

Your calendar and daily do-or-die lists really paint this picture. Being a workaholic, casting out your friend group, kids involved in too many activities, and the worst of all I’ll be happy when I reach here.

It’s BS….trust me.

Examples

So what does better health look like?

Contrary to popular belief, not all “spokes” need the same oil.

For instance, a financial manager and daily contributions to your retirement are all you need for financial health. But – if you’re buried in debt – turn that burner up for a smidge.

Spiritual, daily prayer and weekly contributions/commitments can keep you squeaky clean spiritually.

The rest require the burner phenomenon.

Times of high focus and lots of intensity, followed by simmering to maintenance for other areas.

For instance, schedule more intentional energy and focus on your physical health in 8-12 week increments. Then take your foot off the gas for a month and go again.

Professionally, recognize that certain periods require higher demands, but when that’s over schedule a long trip with friends and family.

Burnout sets in when we’re spinning our wheels (oh puns). Give yourself 6-12 weeks and watch the magic happen. Calendars are meant to prioritize, not compulsively gorge.

Not sure where to start? Physical Health at a halt?
