Hey Stronger Fam!
Are you organized? I’d like to think I am, but research shows self-awareness is lacking these days.
How’s your management skills? People? Tasks? Schedule? Time?
Let’s start there.
One thing that gets my gears all in an uproar is when someone talks about “time management.” “You can’t manage time!” they say. “Everyone has 24 hours a day”…..they say.
If we were playing cow patty bingo, I’d be the first to raise my hand while slamming their face right into the square.
It’s tough to listen to anyone about managing your schedule because (guess what?) everyone’s lives are different.
Plus, those influencers preaching these principles often have personal assistants and zero family responsibilities.
If you want to fit fitness into your lifestyle, you need to tackle THREE KEY THINGS:
- Put Yourself First:
The biggest problem is prioritizing everyone else. Say “YES” to your well-being before you pay attention to others’ requests.
You are an investment!
- Stay Consistent:
Nothing derails your schedule faster than variety and distractions. If you want results, you need predictability and consistency in one area…..then you can add variety elsewhere.
- Be Realistic:
How much time do you really have? If you think you have NO time…..I call BS!
Be creative!
If parents working 60+ hours a week can find time to work out, so can you. What’s your goal? Does 2 or 3 days a week make the most sense? Can you incorporate walking meetings?
Get creative!

Okay….let’s rehash
Put yourself first
Stay consistent
Be realistic
To continue…
Now, let’s discuss the pros and cons of morning, midday, and evening workouts:
AM Workouts
- Fresh and ready to rock
- Less distractions
- Prepares you for the day
- More “willpower”
😴 But that comfy bed can be tempting, especially if you have a family to juggle.
Midday Workouts
- Breaks up your day
- Still feeling pretty fresh
- Good “willpower”
- Energy boost for the rest of your day
🚶♂️ But for most folks, fitting this in can be unrealistic and stressful.
PM Workouts
- More flexible with time
- Great for shaking off the day
- Less snacking at night
- Can actually improve your sleep
💤 But “willpower” may be on empty and there’s more distractions to derail you.
A Few Other Considerations:
Before you dive headfirst into this journey, assess your support system:
Is your partner supportive enough to pick up some slack?
Got kids?
Can you flex around their schedule?
What is sustainable for you?
